On Friday 29 July, Eden Badminton Federation in conjunction with BSA held a BWF Shuttle Time Training session at Carpe Diem School in George that caters for physical, learning and intellectually impared learners between the ages of 6 to 18 years. 4 educators from Carpe Diem participated as well as 2 educators of Eljada Kairos in Oudtshoorn.
Not only was this Shuttle Time at a special needs school a first for Eden District but also the first in the Western Cape.
Both schools received a starting kit consisting of an Air-Badminton kit, shuttles and rackets.
Training was received with great excitement by the 6 ladies participating so that over 60 children also thoroughly enjoyed the new sport at Carpe Diem.
Eden Badminton Federation, look forward to working with both Carpe Diem and Eljada Kairos in the hopes of producing the next para-badminton Olympian.
