A phased-in approach will be followed to ensure the safety of athletes, other personnel and the wider community.
Phase 1: From 13 July 2020
- Only normal-risk players in National Squads and Training Academies
Phase 2: 12 August 2020
- All normal-risk players, provided your province has:
- Submitted a provincial start-up operational plan to BSA
- Appointed Provincial and Club Compliance Officers
- Followed the regulations stipulated in the National Approval Document
Phase 3: 27 August 2020
- All other players, including social players and players older than 60 years of age, all competitions including leagues, no spectators.
The timing of progression between phases may be influenced by any evidence of transmission issues.
Kindly note: the Minister has informed us that spot-checks will take place and any venue or club not adhering to the safety protocols will result in our plan being revoked.
